Create a calendar

  1. Hit "Add Calendar" in the upper right corner of the screen, then choose create.
  2. Enter a information about your Calendar:
    Field Description
    Name The name of your calendar will be used when displayed in the list of calendars, when searching, and so on
    Color Events or Issues on the calendar will be painted in this color
    Calendar type Basic - in this mode, it is possible to display and create only events
    Project - in this mode, you can select a specific project to display tasks
    Filter - creating a calendar via the filter, more about the filters here
    JQL query - creating a calendar via the JQL query, more about the filters here
    Project Select a project from the list of JIRA projects to which you have access
    Event Start In this field, we can use both: JIRA system fields and JIRA custom fields (date and datetime). It is worth noting that the ability to edit the field directly depends on the drag and drop issues on the calendar.
    Event End This field is optional, but it is an indicator of the completion of the task on the calendar. If this item is blank, any task will be displayed for a duration of one day.
    Event fields These are the JIRA fields that should be displayed on the calendar
    Event info fields These are the JIRA fields that should be displayed on the calendar
  3. Choose "Create"

Add other calendars

To add other calendars from your Jira instance or from Google calendars, choose the down arrow to the right of Add Calendar, then pick any of the following:

Edit a Calendars

If you want to change the name of a calendar, hide certain event fields, or change calendars permissions: you can edit the calendar provided you have sufficient permissions. You can also add custom event types and hide default event fields to tailor the calendar to your needs.

Export Calendars

Export Jira Calendar to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, etc

Most often we were asked to export calendar items to mobile devices, as well as to third-party applications, such as: microsoft outlook, apple calendar, google calendar. Finally, this functionality is available on all Cloud versions of the Doitbetter Calendar. A few simple steps to enable this feature for your users:

For Jira Cloud

  1. Follow this link: https://BASEURL.atlassian.net/plugins/servlet/ac/doitbetter.calendar/export-settings (Where BASEURL is the name of your Jira)
  2. Enable the ability to export calendars for your Jira.
  3. The "export" button appears in the top item of your calendar details. As a result, a unique link to the calendar export for the current user should be generated.
  4. Import Doitbetter Calendar into some calendars:

Delete or remove a Calendar

How to to delete or remove a Calendar

If you don't want to see a calendar in a calendars list there are two ways you can remove it. How you proceed depends upon whether you're just hiding the calendar from your view, or deleting it completely.

Remove

  1. Find the calendar in a calendar list
  2. Choose ... to the right of the calendar name and select Remove from list...

Delete

Warning

Be Careful! This action is permanent, and will delete the calendar for all users.

  1. Find the calendar in a calendar list
  2. Choose ... to the right of the calendar name and select Delete...
  3. Confirm the deletion of the calendar, you must remember that the calendar will be deleted from all users who use it.
